The Article and Publication Klementiev Ruslan E. codeximli@yandex.ru 13 11 2024 5 439 523 proletarian literature reference book VAPP GAKHN MAPP Copyright © 2026, IWL RAS 2026 The publication presents part of the unpublished reference book “Ten Years of Proletarian Literature”, prepared by the All-Russian Association of Proletarian Literature (VAPP) together with the State Academy of Artistic Sciences (GAKhN) in 1927–1928. The published section reflects the state and main composition of proletarian literary institutions in Moscow, Leningrad, the North Caucasus and the Urals before the decisive fate of proletarian literature of the USSR, the First All-Union Congress of Proletarian Writers, held in April–May 1928, when the VAPP was disbanded. The book was checked by Glavlit and was signed into a set by the publishing house “Land and Factory”, but was never published. The reason for this was, first of all, the failure of the national policy of the VAPP, due to which the structure of proletarian writers’ associations was reorganized (a new organization, RAPP, became the head of proletarian literature). It made no sense to publish a book in which data on the composition of associations was rapidly becoming outdated, and there was no information about the newly created RAPP. 1.
