Abstract:

The publication presents archival materials from the funds of the Department of Manuscripts of the Institute of World Literature (IWL RAS). The preface provides an overview of these texts. Among them: the article “In memory of the poet” written in 1975 by E. Andrusova, the sister of N. Belotsvetov, telling about the life of Belotsvetov and also a letter from the widow of Belotsvetov to I. Chinnov is published. She thanks Chinnov for helping her publish the posthumous book of Belotsvetov’s poems. In letters of the 1930s from Riga from the poet I. Chinnov to his friend, also a poet, Y. Ivask, they are talking about the creative atmosphere among the Russian intelligentsia of Latvia in those years, about the Riga’s magazine “Mansarda”. Belotsvetov and both of these poets then belonged to the same circle of Russian writers that had formed in the capital of Latvia. In letters of the 1980s from Chinnov and Ivask addressed to the collector of Belotsvetov’s works, a member of the Anthroposophical Society L. Novikov, poets write about Belotsvetov’s poetry.
