Education:
In 1991, he graduated with honors from the Faculty of Philology of the University of Tartu (Department of Russian Philology; scientific supervisor — Yu.M. Lotman).
In 1990 and 1991, he took Italian language courses at the University of Bergamo (Italy).
In 1998, he completed full-time postgraduate studies at the Faculty of Philology of Lomonosov Moscow State University (academic supervisor A.A. Ilyushin).
In 1999, he defended his PhD thesis on the topic “Batyushkov and the Literature of Italy.”
In 2006, he completed his doctoral studies at the Institute of Linguistics of the Russian Academy of Sciences (academic consultant M.I. Shapir).
In 2007, he defended his doctoral thesis on the topic “The Problem of Interlanguage Intertextuality (Based on the Material of Classical Elegy)” (received the degree of Doctor of Philology in 2008).
Research interests:
Linguistic poetics, theory and history of poetic language, theory and history of literary translation, history of Russian literature of the 18th–19th centuries, comparative literature and comparative cultural studies, history of Russian philology, traditional and computer textology, digital humanities.
